"Managing Copyright Ownership and Rights of Use of Works Created at the University"
Presented: Wednesday, February 09, 2005Facilitators:
Kenneth D. Crews, Director of the Copyright Management Center;
David Wong, Senior Copyright Analyst;
Jacque Ramos, Law ClerkFaculty, staff, and others will learn how they may better manage ownership and rights of use of works that they have created through their work at the university. This workshop will help instructors negotiate their publishing contracts so that they may continue to use their published works online, in the classroom, in other publications, and more. This workshop will also address the issue of ownership of works created at the university by explaining the “Memorandum of Understanding: Assuring Rights of Use of Instructional Materials.” This innovative development assures to both the university and the instructor rights to use online instructional materials created by the instructor.
